Welcome to Sketch it Saturdays at Unscripted Sketches! If you are just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. PIGGYBACK CHALLENGE

It’s time for our monthly PIGGYBACK CHALLENGE! If you haven’t played along with us before on a piggyback week, it is simply an additional, optional challenge. Whether you choose to add the piggyback challenge element to your project will in no way effect consideration for Top 3 or other prizes.

Since it’s Earth Day Weekend, our additional challenge this week is to use SOMETHING RECYCLED somewhere on your project! We’d love to see what you do with it, so whether you choose to do the piggyback challenge or not, post a link to your project below. Enjoy!

Unscripted Sketches #155

And here are the special creations designed by our outstanding design team! :)

 

Tracey’s RECYCLED ITEM is a flower made from brown paper packaging that came in a delivery last week.

 

Adriana’s RECYCLED ITEMS are a box of Caribou coffee and the tag on the right is from a key chain.

Stef’s RECYCLED ITEM is recycled packaging from Amy Tangerine embellishments & recycled cardboard sleeve from a coffee drink (behind flower).

Alicia’s RECYCLED ITEMS are black ribbon from product packaging.

 

Patrice’s RECYCLED ITEM is a vintage illustration.

 

Michele’s RECYCLED ITEMS are: the tag with the birds on it was recycled from a shirt or some article of clothing, the cardboard with the saying on it is recycled as well and the little safety pin.

 

Billie’s RECYCLED ITEMS are cork, calendar pages for butterflies button, scrap
ribbon from gift bag.

 

Jessica’s card is totally RECYCLED! Giraffe paper from a previous scrapbook page….corrugated box, 100% recycled kraft paper and jute!

 

CherylAnn’s RECYCLED ITEMS are the map, the glass, the string and beads.

 

Geri’s card is totally green! The card base is from a cereal box covered with a used paper bag, the flowers are die cut from a Coffee Creations hot cup holder thingy, the paper is some incredible home-made paper bought at a craft show, the wee bit of cording is a piece of the paper bag twisted, dipped in coffee & dried.

 

Susan’s RECYCLED ITEM is corrugated book packaging, formed into a gift box and decorated with a Santa from a section of wrapping paper and a UPC tag from a Christmas stocking.

 

Nicole’s RECYCLED ITEMS are: two ‘flags’ in the background are actually the little piece cut off of the 12×12 papers that display the company name and barcode. In addition, the buttons were leftover from a sewing project, the paper button was made from a scrap piece of paper and die, and the twine was a scrap found in the garbage can!

 

Debbie’s RECYCLED ITEM is K & Company bag from another card.

Stephanie’s RECYCLED ITEM is brown tulle {layered with button}.

Unscripted Sketches #153 + THREE YEAR blog-iversary!

IT’S OUR THREE-YEAR BLOG-IVERSARY!

We’re celebrating THREE years in blog land so welcome to our blog party! We’d like to thank everyone who has visited us over the past three years. We’ve seen lots of changes over the past three years and I think you’re going to like the newest ones, too!

NEW LOOK

First would be our new look. How do you like the new format? (If you can’t see our new format, header, etc. you may need to refresh.) Our new header, clipboards, Top 3 badge, etc. were all designed by our own Arielle, giving us a great new look! Isn’t it fabulous!?! Thanks, Arielle! We’ll be making little alterations and tweaks for the next few weeks, so you may see a few more new things coming up in later posts, too!

Second is the announcement of our new designers. We’ve taken on some great ladies with lots of talent! Here they are (in no particular order).

What’s a party without games? Since we’ve been here THREE years, we’re playing THREE games. There are THREE RAKs to give away and THREE ways to win! (These will be mailed so please see the disclaimer in the sidebar.) Every time you play one of the games, your name will be entered into the “hat”.

1- COMMENT GAME- Everyone who posts a comment below before midnight EST on Friday, April 13 will have their name entered to win one of THREE RAKs. You may comment as many times as you like, but each person will only be counted once.

2- PROJECT ENTRY GAME- Every project submitted via Inlinkz at the end of this post using this week’s sketch (#153) before midnight EST on Friday, April 13 will get their name entered to win one of THREE RAKs. Each submission will count as one entry. Multiple entries will be accepted for this game.
